Submit your health and/or dental opt-out application before the deadline.
30 days from the official start date of your program
Make sure to submit your form within 30 days from the start date of your program as applications received after the deadline will be denied.
There are 2 circumstances in which students enrolled in the Student Health and Dental Plan may opt out: (1) when they are new students and (2) when they are returning students on the anniversary of starting an eligible full-time program.
All eligible domestic and international students enrolled in an eligible full-time program that is 16 weeks or longer at BCIT are automatically enrolled in the Health and Dental plans. Students get one opportunity to opt out and must meet the following criteria in order to have their application approved:
Eligible students who miss the deadline would be able to opt out at the anniversary of starting an eligible program in the Student Benefits Plan.
Eligible students who miss the deadline would be able to opt out at the next anniversary of enrollment in the Student Benefits Plan.
If your program starts on September 6th, you may submit an online application before October 6th. If you miss the deadline, your next opportunity to opt out will be next September.
To apply to Opt-Out, you must be enrolled in the Student Benefits Plan, meet the eligibility criteria, have proof of comparable coverage, and complete the online form before the applicable deadline.
