Drug Benefits

The student health plan pays for a portion of prescription drugs removing some of the financial burden so you can make your health a priority.

Coverage

Coverage for your medicines is dependent on your plan option and covers the cost of most medications legally requiring a prescription. The maximum amount payable to an eligible brand name drug will be limited to the lowest priced item in the appropriate generic category. The plan does not cover over-the-counter medication.

Advise your doctor and pharmacist that you are on the National Formulary - NASA.

 

Special Coverage

Your drug plan includes coverage Smoking Cessation Products that legally require a prescription. Reimbursed at 80% to a lifetime maximum of $500. Your drug plan covers HPV vaccines (including Gardasil).

Drug Exception Process

In the event that the drugs available on the Formulary are not effective in treating the condition, an exception process is in place. To be eligible for an exception, you must have tried one alternative drug that is eligible on the Formulary. Download the Drug Exception Request Form to request coverage of a drug that is not automatically covered under the drug plan. This form must be completed by your physician.

Drug Identification Numbers must be 8 digits. If you have a DIN less then 8 digits, pre-fill with zeros.
