Student Health & Wellness!mystudentplan is a benefits plan for students and can provide coverage for prescription drugs, vision care, dental care, mental health counseling, and more. The plan is designed to supplement provincial health insurance and provide additional access to medical services.

Sobeys and Safeway Pharmacy Network

The Sobeys family of pharmacies are pharmacy at Safeway, FreshCo Pharmacy, Thrifty Foods Pharmacy, IGA Pharmacy, Foodland Pharmacy, and Lawtons Drugs, offers several services including online prescription refills and appointment booking, medication reviews, custom adherence packaging, immunization services, and more.

Students enrolled in the Student Health and Dental Plan, who have the Sobeys drug card can automatically get a preferred dispensing fee/price reduction when filling their prescription at any Sobeys Pharmacy location in Canada.

To get your Sobeys Drug Card, please follow these steps:
  1. Go to https://services.lawtons.ca/ppn and provide the username PeopleCorp and the password PCPPN19!
  2. Complete the online form, you need to add the policy number 175181 and your student ID without letters when you complete the form.
  3. After you register, your card will be mailed to you.
  4. To get your discount while shopping at Lawtons locations, you’ll need to present your Lawtons Discount Card and Photo ID at the time of purchase.
Dispensing Savings

Within Ontario, the dispensing fee is $8.83 and drug markup is capped at 8% (6% on drug costs over $1,000).

In British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island, the discount is $2.00 per prescription applied against the dispensing fee.

In Alberta, Nova Scotia, and Saskatchewan, the discount is applied per prescription as $1.00 against member out-of-pocket co-pay and $1.00 credited annually to the plan.

For Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail (mail order service), the dispensing fee is $4.99, and markup is capped at 8%.

Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail is a direct-to-your-door pharmacy where you order your prescription medications by phone, online, by e-mail, or by postal mail. To learn more about ordering your prescriptions online, visit https://www.sobeyspharmacybymail.ca/questions.aspx

If you wish to transfer your prescriptions to one of the Sobeys family of pharmacies, please Visit or call the preferred pharmacy network location and request a transfer of your file. The pharmacy will collect the necessary information from you and take care of the rest.

If you choose to visit another pharmacy, not on our list, you will still be covered by your student Plan, but may have a higher out-of-pocket cost.

Metro and Food Basics Pharmacy Network

Students enrolled in the Student Health and Dental plan, are enrolled in HealthWorks - Preferred Provider Network that allows students to save on their prescriptions at any Metro or Food Basics pharmacy in Ontario.

Students that are part of a Preferred Provider Network are eligible for a preferred dispensing fee of $5.99.

To save on your prescriptions, you need to download the preferred provider network drug card and simply present it along with your Plan Card at a Metro or Food Basics pharmacy. You will only have to present this card once to start receiving the savings.

No sign-up is required. Find your local Metro or Food Basics pharmacy at the websites listed below and start saving.

Alliance Pharmacy Network

Students enrolled in the Student Health and Dental Plan, are allowed to create an account https://www.telus.com/en/health/virtual-pharmacy/ to automatically get the dispensing fee and markup discounts on prescription drugs when visit the Alliance Pharmacy.

How to sign up to create an account:
  1. Go to https://www.telus.com/en/health/virtual-pharmacy/
  2. Click Get Started
  3. Complete the Required fields. In the Employer/School/Group Code, enter your benefits plan group ID number
  4. Click Create My Account

Once you have your account, you have access to:

  • Pharmacist Counselling
  • Refill Reminders and Renewal Management
  • Free and Convenient Overnight Delivery
Alliance Pharmacy Savings
  • Reduced dispensing fee of $6.49
  • Reduced markups of 8% on prescription drugs in Ontario
  • Reduced markups of 9% on prescription drugs in all other provinces
  • Up to a 90-day supply of medication, in consultation with your doctor
