Get the right legal support! mylegalplan provides students access to legal resources such as customizable legal documents, 24/7 legal hotline to speak with a legal assistant and consultation with a lawyer from the national network to pursue any civil legal issues.
You do not need to pay out of pocket to use your legal coverage, the selected attorney will confirm your coverage and directly submit the claim to the Virtual Legal Plan.
The selected attorney must be a member in good standing of a law society in Canada.
Once you have had the initial phone consult with a legal assistant through the legal assistance line, you could be referred to an attorney based on the specific circumstances of your case.
Upon meeting the lawyer, you will have access to a free 30-minute consultation to discuss all aspects of your legal situation, and the legal discounts available to you and determine whether the lawyer is a good fit for your needs.
The selected attorney must email legal.network@assistenza.ca to confirm that the student is eligible for coverage before any services are provided.
Once the confirmation is received, the selected attorney shall submit their invoices of up to $3,250.00 per incident to legal.network@assistenza.ca for repayment. The fees are dispersed directly to the lawyer and not to the student.
You do not need to pay out of pocket for the first $3,250.00 in legal fees but will be responsible for any fees over that amount.
The $3,250.00 in legal fees will be available to you for 12 months from the date the funds are released to your selected lawyer.
