Vision

If an insured incurs expenses for vision care, the Insurance company will pay reasonable and customary charges for:

  • one optometric examination by an optometrist or ophthalmologist every 2 benefit years to a maximum of $50.00;
  • standard eye glass lenses and frames (single vision or bifocal as required) when prescribed by an opthalmologist or a licensed optometrist to a maximum of $75.00 in any consecutive 24 months for one complete set of lenses and frames for any one Insured; or
  • laser eye surgery performed by an opthalmologist, to a maximum of $150 per benefit year

There is also up to a 20% discount for eyewear provided through PVS (Preferred Vision Services). PVS is a network of eyewear centres. For information on participants in your area, call 1-800-668- 6444 or visit their website at www.pvs.ca.
