Drug Benefits

Provide coverage for prescription drugs in the appropriate generic category. Use the prescription search tool to discover if your medication is covered.

Health Benefits

Provide coverage for vision care, paramedical practitioners, mental health care, medical equipment and supplies, ambulance, and more.

Dental Benefits

Provide coverage for oral examination, x-rays, scaling, polish, fillings, extraction, endodontic and periodontic services.

Additional Benefits

Provide additional coverages for emergency travel assistance, dental accident, virtual health care, tuition insurance, tutorial insurance and accidental death and dismemberment.

Online Applications

The deadline to submit online applications is 30 days from the official start date of your program.

Opt-Out

Withdraw from the Student Benefits Plan if you already have health and dental coverage.

Family Add-On

Extend your Student Benefits Plan to include your dependents, providing them with the same Health and Dental benefits. Additional charges must be paid using a VISA or Mastercard credit card or a VISA Debit card.

Re-Enroll/Opt-In

Re-enroll in the Student Benefits Plan if you previously opted out OR Opt-In to the Student Benefits Plan if you are considered full-time equivalent student.

To correctly use your Student Benefits Plan, you must follow these steps:

Confirm Eligibility

Review your student account fee statement and search for the health and dental insurance fees to confirm you are covered by the Student Benefits Plan.

Know your Benefits

Read and understand your coverage details and limits before you begin using your drug, health, dental or other benefits.

Create your Account

With the Canada Life Online Tool, you can access your plan anytime, anywhere, and enjoy various features such as submitting claims, checking the balance of benefits, confirming coverage and more.

Get your Benefits Card

The faster and easier way to use your benefits without completing claims forms and waiting for cheques in your mail or direct deposit in your bank account.

Start using your Benefits

Book an appointment and present your Benefit Cards to get immediate coverage, only paying for the portion not covered.

Submit Claims

If your service provider is not set up for direct billing, the online claims process is the quickest and easiest way to get reimbursed for eligible expenses.

Validation Period

The effective date of your plan is the first day of the month in which your program begins. However, there is a 45-day period from the beginning of the term for new enrollments. During this time, you pay out of pocket for all eligible expenses and keep the receipts to submit your claims once the validation period is complete.
