We are profoundly saddened to confirm a Georgian student died in a tragic motorcycle accident over the weekend. We extend our deepest sympathies to those impacted by these events.
Trauma Based Group Counselling
Traumatic events like these can be a reason for stress, anxiety and can have an impact on mental health. As leaders in providing mental health support to post-secondary students, we want you to know that we are here to provide continued support.
We have arranged a Trauma Based Group Debrief Counseling session for students who are directly affected by this. Session will be held by an expert counselor who is fully aware of the situation and is specialized in Trauma Based Group Counseling.
Students who register will receive a confirmation email and a link to the session from Inkblot. Follow up counseling sessions will be arranged if students request it, or if the feedback from the counselor suggests the need for a follow up session.
Individual Counseling and other Supports
If students are not comfortable with the Trauma Based Group Counseling and prefer individual counseling, they can visit mywellnessplan.ca and book an online session with a counselor after completing the counsellor matching questions to ensure they are matched with a counselor they feel most comfortable with. It is also important to note that there are over 950 counselors from diverse backgrounds and available in evenings, early mornings, and weekends to support students.
